We begin at Kulturgården Bjerkem, where we are greeted with a warm welcome and captivating winter stories. Experience a traditional Norwegian ski tour through scenic landscapes, with a lunch in the forest. Dive into skiing history with Viking Afterski at Stiklestad, and get to know South Sami culture at Saemien Sijte in Snåsa. Learn about the Sami skiing heritage and participate in traditional activities. Test your skills in the ski slope, travel along the Golden Route, taste world-famous cheeses, visit historic sites, and end the experience with a 7-course tasting menu at Experience Food and Drink. Join us on a journey that blends history and culture with Norwegian winter activities, creating memories for a lifetime. Day 1. Arrival Day Welcome to Kulturgården Bjerkem Accommodation and welcome with an evening meal, soup with bread Twilight time with winter stories Day 2. The great outdoors Ski tour in the cultural landscape, including lunch. We pack our bags and invite you on a traditional Norwegian ski tour. We put on our skis right outside the door and ski through easy terrain in the cultural landscape. We enjoy soup and bread for lunch together in the forest, by the crackling fire. The activity is a low-threshold offer with a guide who is also a ski instructor for those who want some training. The instruction is tailored to the group's wishes and needs. Viking Afterski at Stiklestad Welcome into the atmospheric longhouse at Stiklastadir! Here, you will hear about the history of skiing all the way back to the Viking Age! The evening concludes with a Viking feast. A 2-course Viking-inspired menu and our own Stiklastadir beer. With a guide dressed in Viking attire and in stunning surroundings, you will learn more about what life was like during the Viking Age. Duration: approx. 2.5 hours Day 3. Trip to Henningvola Breakfast at Bjerkem Authentic Norwegian Ski Play at the Henningvola ski resort – including traditional Norwegian lunch at the ski hut. Learn about Norwegian outdoor life traditions. To start the day, we put on our skis right outside the door and ski up to Henningvola – approx. 1.5 hours. At Henningvola, there is a large network of slopes with varying difficulty levels, including a small beginner alpine slope and a beginner ski jump. A day of ski play led by skilled instructors, combined with warmth and coziness at the ski hut, is an unbeatable, truly Norwegian experience. Optional activities. Fine Dining at Experience Food and Drink in the evening. We will be served a 7-course tasting menu, a delightful journey through Innherred's flavors. Locally sourced and from the European gastronomic region, Trøndelag – prepared by master chef Kim Tore Sjøbakk. Day 4. Sami Ski History Breakfast at Bjerkem We say goodbye to Kulturgården Bjerkem for this time. Today, we will learn about the South Sami culture in Norway at Saemien Sijte – a South Sami museum and cultural center. Focus topic: Sami ski history. Much of what has been written about the South Sami people has been written by others. At this museum and cultural center, they tell their own story, and we get to experience it firsthand. Location: Both outdoor areas, gåetie/gamma, and the exhibitions. Be sure to wear clothes suitable for being outside. Must wear clothing suitable for being outside. Lunch – the taste of the season we are in now. The Golden Route On our way to Trondheim, we can't pass by without taking The Golden Route. We stop at Gangstad Farm Dairy for a cheese tasting of the world's best cheese. They were pioneers 27 years ago when the cheese adventure in Norway was just beginning. In the town center of Straumen, we'll make a brief historical stop at Kjerringa mé Straumen and enjoy a refreshing drink before heading to the World Championship city, Trondheim.
